s7 Edge getting hot - overheating?

Download CPU-Z and check the temperature of the phone. Alternatively you can measure with an infrared thermometer. Anything above 55-60C on a regular basis, is crossing into the "phone is faulty" zone. My S7E was getting hot and it would start as soon as the screen was on and without doing...

Over heat Samsung Galaxy 7 edge

Would you do the same thing if this was your car under warranty? What exactly were you expecting from Samsung and Verizon that didn't meet your needs?

    iPhone>N7>S7E (maybe)

Buying into an ecosystem is a very long conversation/debate when looking and comparing outside of the ecosystem devices. You are right that a user's circumstances may dictate the choice but I believe most of this is marketing fluff from Apple rather than conscious consumer choices. Have to give...

Is your phone sim unlocked? If so, he should be ok.

    iPhone>N7>S7E (maybe)

The S7E is still by far the better phone IMO. - Double the RAM. - Far better screen and resolution. - Better camera still. - Better battery (iphone 7 just added 2 hrs to iphone 6's battery). - Android version on S7E is better suited for power users in comparison to iOS 10. - microSD slot. -...

Can you format a samsung s7 edge without a samsung account?

It's entertaining to see that you are mixing up the s6 into the discussion when we are talking about the s7. Samsung has removed the reactivation lock feature on the s7. Don't take my word for it - contact Samsung's customer support or post the question on support.google.com and you'll get the...

Can you format a samsung s7 edge without a samsung account?

As I said in my posts, you can't prevent the reset which is what the OP was asking. You can reset the phone but you won't be able to use it afterwards or initialize it. Here's a reference for you: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/6172890?hl=en and feel free to argue the semantics of...

Can you format a samsung s7 edge without a samsung account?

Where do you see a reference that the perpetrator/thief won't be able to reset/format the phone with any of the solutions you are quoting? Maybe I missed that reference? Do not confuse usage with the ability to factory reset the phone. That can't be prevented AFAIK but I'd be glad to be proven...

Can you format a samsung s7 edge without a samsung account?

Taking the sim card out and doing a factory reset of the phone is likely to defeat both of those options unless you have a reference that it doesn't.

How to know where my S7 is from? need warranty and amazon seller won't help me

Yes. BTW if you still want to know the exact country and you are comfortable giving me your IMEI, I will get the answer from samsung for you if you still need to know which country the phone was meant for.

    Phone gets really hot sometimes

Exynos runs just as hot. Anything up to 110-120 seems to be normal/expected. CPU-Z does some nice temperature reporting.

S7 Edge unresponsive, doesn't turn on, blue LED is on

    - do a factory reset and continue using. You just encountered a crash that didn't seem to be persistent and hence not related to the hw. I would keep using it until the problem occurs again.

If you're considering Unlocked, Olympic Edition on Sale at BB

Get the clear cover from samsung for the phone. You will be glad with the protection it provides and how it allows for the phone to show IMO.

Can you format a samsung s7 edge without a samsung account?

Sorry to hear about your phone. Unfortunately they can reset it. If you can't track it/find it, you should at least put your phone 's IMEI in a blacklist with your country's mobile operators.

How to know where my S7 is from? need warranty and amazon seller won't help me

Call Samsung or chat with customer support on their website, give them the IMEI number of the phone and they will tell you for which country/market the phone was destined for. Then you'll know where you stand with the warranty.
