Pretty much any HTC phone can be rooted. Others can be rooted as well, but may be more difficult. :)

The XDA bounty is up for a simplified process(noob friendly) all in a nice basic GUI format. I pledged $100 for this development. A pre-alpha release will most likely be tomorrow. The only part difficult is setting up a GoldCard. Other than that, this GUI will work flawlessly, I'm sure.

Either use Titanium Backup to remove applications or Root Explorer. In Root Explorer just search for the filename.apk and choose to uninstall/delete the file you've chosen. It's easy as that :)
