I did not try that as I wanted a new router anyway. On 2.5 GHz, my old router used channel 11, and my new router uses channel 1. In both cases the 2.5 GHz signal gets blocked by wifi. In the old router and the new on, the 5 GHz signal does not ever get blocked by wifi.
