My Co-worker's Droid Mini received numerous text message notifications even thought there were no messages. it happened al night long until he just turned off the phone. We are all on call 24-7, so we need our phones active. Is there any reason this happened, and what can he do to prevent it...

My coworker's Droid Mini sms notification kept beeping at him all night even though there were no messages coming in. He had to turn off and restart to make it stop. Any suggestions as to what might have caused it?
