[How-To] Manual Rooting of LS670ZVH/ZVJ (+ links to root ZVD/ZV9)

Re: [How-To] Manual Rooting of LS670ZVH/ZVJ (+ links to root ZVD/ Everything seemed to work great! ...Except now my phone isn't registering the USB connection to my computer? In Setings > Wireless & Network Settings I don't see USB settings, either. Any ideas?

[How-To] Manual Rooting of LS670ZVH/ZVJ (+ links to root ZVD/ZV9)

Re: [How-To] Manual Rooting of LS670ZVH/ZVJ (+ links to root ZVD/ Actually, I'd like to run the stock rom for now. Looks like the automatic rooting method does use the ZVJ recovery. Would that be recommended in this case? (I'll have to find a PC, I think...)

[How-To] Manual Rooting of LS670ZVH/ZVJ (+ links to root ZVD/ZV9)

Re: [How-To] Manual Rooting of LS670ZVH/ZVJ (+ links to root ZVD/ This is probably obvious, but since this method was originally intended as a ZVH root, is there a ZVJ recovery that should be used in step 3 instead of the ZVH recovery? I don't remember needing to flash anything when I rooted...

[How-To] Rooting LS670ZVD with GingerBreak (no reverting and OTA works too!)

Ok, this is bizarre... I realized I hadn't checked "Allow installation of non-Market applications," (not even sure if that makes a difference) so I went ahead and checked it and tried running the root one last time. Same issue as before (Permission denied for "su") but I just downloaded and...

[How-To] Rooting LS670ZVD with GingerBreak (no reverting and OTA works too!)

Oh, that makes more sense.... But yes, I've rebooted, started up the shell again, and typed su. It just hangs for a bit, then returns "Permission denied"

[How-To] Rooting LS670ZVD with GingerBreak (no reverting and OTA works too!)

Balls. I've now successfully rooted five times on my Mac within Terminal, but the root refuses to "stick" on exit. (See terminal output below. Note: After first "exit" command, the prompt returns from "#" to "$".) From this thread, it seems at least two people went through similar problems, but...

[How-To] Rooting LS670ZVD with GingerBreak (no reverting and OTA works too!)

Excellent. I see you posted the semi-auto root (above). What's the process for using those files? (Please forgive me if that seems like a ridic question. I'm also on a Mac, so the whole system is that much more foreign...)

[How-To] Rooting LS670ZVD with GingerBreak (no reverting and OTA works too!)

I've read, re-read, and read the instructions again (and a few dozen other posts on the topic)... I think I'm ready to root! (The first time is always scary, no?) My one newb question before pulling the plug on Sprint ID forever (thank you, lord) -- Do I need to backup anything before...
