It's driving me crazy, too! Don't bother with a factory reset-- it hasn't fixed my issue. There's a new firmware update coming I heard (AQI7), so I am really hoping maybe that will resolve it. I just hope there's nothing defective about my device.

Did you ever fix your issue? My Note 8 suddenly has terrible idle battery drain (with Android OS and System being the top of it). I used to lose less than 4% a night unplugged. Not sure what happened. Did a full on hard reset and cleared the cache, and didn't even download all my apps. I can't...
