I've done this in an area that only had Verizon and AT&T coverage. If Sprint and/or T-Mo have roaming agreements with Verizon, Fi will get it too. I have been on Verizon towers with Fi. Correct. That's what I do. My google apps account is actually the main account on my phone with all my phone settings, contacts, etc. Only the Fi service (and a few other things) use the Gmail account.

Actually a loss of 7 points overnight doesn't sound bad to me. Most phones, including iphones, will lose more. Previous android phones I've had before marshmallow would lose 30+ points doing nothing for 7 or 8 hours.
