Have you tried to go https://market.android.com/ and try to install a program from there? Maybe it will force a new install / update to your current market program. Worth a try.

I got that "lower rate" that you didn't get. Even without the official email. I've been with Verizon for 9 years, so that may have something to do with it. No extender offer for me, though.

They aren't changing the terms of your current contact. Just when your contact renews. I guess you could go month to month for years and keep the upgrade in your pocket.

Go into settings and about phone when it happens. If it just rebooted, the up time should be almost zero.
