Solved! Determined that when I restored from old phone's memory card the permissions for Skybell were not restored. I had to reinstall Skybell app and give permissions. Thanks for everyone's help. I learned some things I did not know about my phone settings.

I am talking about the status bar icons and the sounds that usually accompany them, although I don't get the badges either. I get some status bar and sound notifications, like gmail, but I am not getting others, such as my Skybell notification when someone is at my door or facebook notifications.

i toggled Nova Launcher on as described. I still do not get notifications for some of my apps. Thanks for the info. Any other possibilities?

I am using Nova Launcher free(not prime) and have enabled status bar notifications under "lock and feel". Is there somewhere else I should be looking? I get some notifications but some apps no longer have notifications that show up.
