I appreciate your replies. I use my Pixel 7 for its camera. Everything else is just fluff. I think I'll just stick with the wife's plan so that she doesn't squawk ;)

I agree. With the number of app "updates" coming to the Pixel (and other) phones and the rate at which they come, much of the on-line info becomes out-of-date. I've written a lot of procedures to help me remember things on my Pixel 7 phone, and by the time I'm satisfied with one it's already...

Where can I find an explanation of the differences between these two icons on my Pixel 7? I' don't really understand what each of them mean and how to get them to disappear once I see them.

I use Firefox on my Pixel 7 phone. When I open Firefox I see a "<Stories" and a "<More Stories" button on the right of the display just below the center line. When I tap "<More Stories" I get at least 100-150 story titles. And it seems that each time I tap "<More Stories" I get a different set...

I did download an exercise page that I obtained from a place called "Community Hospital". I used that app for a couple of days and then uninstalled it. It could be, and probably is, the reason for the strange icon (which appeared at the top LEFT of the screen).

This icon appeared in the status bar on my Pixel 7 yesterday. I've never seen it before. The next day it was gone. What does it mean?

I resolved my problem: When the phone strength icon has an exclamation point on it, it means that I have disallowed data when making calls, but I can still make and receive calls. When the exclamation point does not appear, it means that I have allowed data when making calls.
