Right, but by rooting the device it voids the warranty. I don't know how willing they will be to decide to change something that only messes with rooted devices.

I did that already actually. I tried that after re-rooting. The kindle kept the various launchers and asked which one it wanted me to use. So... maybe if I uninstall those, then I try and restore it to factory settings? Yeah! Haha I'll try that! Sent from my KFTT using Android Central Forums
