I ended up downloading Duo for myself, which works well since I am on iPhone. Just have to convince her contacts to use it. I just don’t understand why Galaxy to Galaxy is not working in the factory phone app unless Samsung is not supporting backwards compatibility. Thank you for all the replies!

I know both recipients use Android devices, but I am pretty sure neither has Duo. Video calling worked fine with my wife’s Galaxy S9+. Sadly, not with the S21.

I thought there would be a hiccup with that setting...

I changed it to Carrier video calling and the video calling selection became active. We will try to make a call later and test it.

I noticed that Duo is the default “Make video calls using” setting. I’m assuming my wife’s video call participants do not use Duo. Would changing to Carrier video call help?

We are using the default phone icon on the phone desktop. When I go into the settings, I do not see anything about camera permission. However, there is a setting for Video Calling. It is switched off. Unfortunately, it is grayed out.
