Just following up - I recently got Chromecast and this works great with the Tab 2 10.1. So now I'll retire my wired HDTV adapter.

Most of the time, it seems most people find it is a bad cable (not the tab or the charger). If you only have 1 cable, you'll want to buy another. There a several cheap ones online. I think I picked up 3 for $5 The build quality is cheap (seems weaker), but they all work OK.

Go into settings < Security And make sure there is a check mark on 'Unknown Sources'

I didn't see anyone mention this, but instead of sending an image via text/sms - just send it in an email (like gmail) and the photos will be sent just fine via your Wifi connection.

Not sure what to make of this. Verizon is still charging for tethering and in another thread I read that the latest update disables foxfi. So obviously they are not complying with what that article from last year states - perhaps it was overturned or they've found a loop-hole.

OMG... I almost busted a gut when I read that. No, tethering is not supported on the Verizon metered plans. I have both Verizon and AT&T phones and they do the same thing (telling you to sign up for the feature). The big American carriers are optimizing their profits by making use buy tether...

I had purchased this from AT&T shortly after I got my Tab. It was new and they got the impression from the Samsung Rep (who recent gave a demo) that it worked with all the Samsung devices. But I couldn't get it to work and after going back to AT&T they said they were mistaken and Samsung...

I upgraded from S3 to S4 last week (I killed my S3...). I agree smart stay on the S4 is not as good. Pretty much doesn't work at all for me when I have my glasses on and I hold it at normal distances. I gotta hold the screen 12 to 18 inched from my face and then it works, but that's just a PITA.
