The PIN on my unit already was 0000. I unpaired my phone, deleted it from the car, and re-paired it. It worked fine today, but there were no long duration separations. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

I'll probably give that a try this weekend, but my situation seems a little different. I have successfully made the pairing to my car, it's just that I need to restart BT on my phone before I turn on the car. If I do that, the phone & car will connect with 100% reliability.

That kind of makes sense with my experience with FitBit. FitBit uses Bluetooth (low power) to communicate with the device. When you turn off Bluetooth, does the WiFi connect right away, or do you have to reboot?

Try turning off BT, reboot, connect, take a walk far enough to disconnect, then walk back. See if it reconnects. Good luck!

Re: Motorola Droid MAXX, WiFi Networks Shows, when trying to connect, it dissapear and apears again. What happens if you turn off Bluetooth? Some have reported that is an issue. My wife's phone just started doing that Sunday, and we tracked it down to FitBit (which uses Bluetooth)

Re: Case suggestions? I had that case for my previous Droid Razr, and got it from Amazon for $12. It has a little bit of corner protection, but is kind of brittle, so if you're prone to dropping it, you may have to replace it after a bit. It fits in my pocket just fine.
