Depending on how you updated your phone. Some "true rooting" cannot be accomplished without returning the phone to its original programming. Kies updates can be evil this way. You can use Odin to bring the phone back to its original software version, then try again. SlimDroid

Take it back and have the store replace the phone. There are issues with the S4 power button acting funny but it's usually the users fault for messing with system files. I ran into this issue trying to replace the T-Mobile startup and shut down screens. Other people have too. SlimDroid

I had the same issue. I just wanted the T-Mobile startup and shut down screen and music gone. Luckily I just renamed the old files instead of deleting them, after I named the files back to original state, my button worked again. Guess I'll deal with the T-Mobile garbage for a little longer...
