You can, just not the Note 7 at the moment. Source link from quote: Where to buy the Galaxy Note 7 in the U.S. | Android Central
Since carriers don't subsidize anymore it's a no brainer to buy unlocked. The Galaxy S7 is available from Samsung and others unlocked though (Samsung gives the U.S...
I did a factory reset right before updating (like others say you need quite a bit of free space before installing the update otherwise it'll fail, not sure why the system doesn't check or tell you beforehand as it's super frustrating to have to re-download). The biggest improvement I've noticed...
I hate cases as well but, coming from a Moto X, the Note wasn't as comfortable to hold so I bought a slim Bear Motion case with a nice grippy sand finish. It doesn't do much to protect the phone, I don't think, but it feels very nice in hand.

Slim case and protection don't really go together.
I've been using a slim bear motion case with a nice grippy finish, which makes the Note more comfortable to hold. See my impressions/mini review thread:

What Rukbat said. I used to plug my Moto X into my Nexus 7 charger once in a while to get more juice slightly faster. The Note 4 charger puts out about 2.1 A (IIRC) vs. the 1.15 A of the Moto X charger.
Better to get it when the bugs are worked out anyways. Also for those hoping for better battery life it might not make much of a difference. On my Nexus 7, after the Lollipop update, the standby time has gone down quite a bit.
Got these in earlier this week figured I'd share my thoughts for those interested.

The case has a finish which they call sand. It feel great in hand, I really like it. It has actually made the Note 4 much more comfortable to...
Re: Battery saver applications. Are they worth it?
I don't waste my time with them. Might as well turn on battery saving mode on the phone if you're gonna do something like that.
Re: Force GPU Rendering - is this necessary?
It made a big difference for me on the Snapdragon variant. As far as I know it's up to the app developer to decide whether GPU rendering is enabled or how it's used. It is not necessary to have this enabled, which is why it's buried in the developer...
Re: SwiftKey keyboard lag
Yeah, get rid of this toolbox or whatever it is. Swifkey can stutter sometimes, this would happen on my Nexus 7 or Moto X occasionally as well. There are things you can do to make your Note 4 run a bit quicker and might help with this lag you've got as well. Search...
I imagine the screen brightness makes the biggest difference in the SOT variability. I keep mine relatively dim as I'm indoors quite a bit.

Although I still miss my old 2013 Moto X, the battery on this phone definitely blows it away. One of the reasons I got this over the 2014 Moto X.

Here's my battery life from yesterday. Relatively heavy use day, lots of screen time on, GPS and BT on all the time, a few hours of music and podcasts as well as some game playing. I did not get a screen shot of the phone state details but I kept it awake 85%+ of the day by fiddling with it...
