I spent 20 minutes with the 2 XL today at the Verizon store specifically to reassure myself that the screen would be fine. I came away satisfied. At least on the display unit I could not see any banding. I didn't have a great background to check it with, so there could be some, but I didn't...

Upgrading from a Note 3. I never found a phone that was so much better that I wanted to upgrade before. The pixel 2 xl finally does it for me. I am mostly looking forward to the camera and front facing speakers.
