Did you try getting into the phone info page and switching between CDMA auto (PRL) and LTE/CDMA/EvDo? You can do so easily by downloading LTE on/off from the Play store. Did you try restarting? If neither of those work you might have to factory reset.
I really dislike the pathetic show of corporate circle jerking to push the resolution of these devices ever higher as if they have any actual benefit. Yeah great, you need a microscope to see the pixels, meanwhile performance and battery life suffers.
It likely has to do with a number of reasons, caching, buggy freezing apps, possible corrupt files, screwing around with the clock speeds and governor, etc. I bet a factory reset would make a big difference.
They could easily include a command to re-lock the bootloader on first boot after an update is applied since the device supports that function. I'm sure they'll also be patching the memory write vulnerability in the TrustZone kernel.
