I have no idea what the current was, but the problem's been resolved without replacing the charger. If you run out of gas do you ask what octane fuel you were using?

What has actually occurred doesn't match your theory, but nonetheless your theory trumps reality. Okaaaay.

I'm using the same charger (and cable), which, prior to an OS update, was perfectly capable of charging my phone. After the update it took 4+ hrs. Now with a more recent update it's once again capable of charging my phone in +/-2hrs.

My phone just got an automatic android update and now charges perfectly to 100% in +/- 2hrs. Same charger, cord, and phone. It can only have been the result of a glitch in the previous OS update because the issue's completely resolved by this most recent OS update.

It's the battery that requires current, and the battery is the same. The OS in its 'quiescent' state draws almost no current. If lollipop was so power hungry in its quiescent state then it could be expected that it would drain power faster than the previous OS, but it doesn't, it uses power more...

Why would the same Google-supplied OEM charger suddenly perform differently after an OS update?

I'm having the same slow-charge problems as other users here, regardless of whether I use the Nexus 5 supplied charger, computer USB2 port, or car charger. This glitch began the instant I upgraded to Lollipop and had never occurred prior to the update. It seems extremely likely that this is a...
