    OxygenOS 5.0.4

Same here. I also show a June security update even though the update info says July. Edit. I used the Oxygen updater app rather than play the VPN game. Love this app! Edit 2: Changelog: Update: 5.0.4 has July 2018 security patch, the setting incorrectly reflects security patch as June due to...

    OxygenOS 5.0.3

It's actually very simple. OTA has always worked in the past for me. But this last update I was unable to find the update by changing region via VPN. Instead, I snagged an app from the Play Store called Oxygen Updater and did the update locally. The app even walks you through the process, iirc...

    OxygenOS 5.0.3

Given recent events in the PH-1 realm, I'm not sure that is a viable option going forward. I also hope OP keeps the security updates for the OP3/T coming long after the last promised update to Oreo 8.1

Let me know how it goes. I encourage you to wipe the system cache from recovery before and after the upgrade.

    OxygenOS 5.0.3

FWIW, I didn't have any of those reported issues with 5.0.1. And 5.0.3 has been solid for me too.

    OxygenOS 5.0.3

I’m curious why you’re still on the older version of OOS?

    OxygenOS 5.0.3

No, I have not done a factory reset except for when I swapped over to the f2fs file system way back when. My standard procedure for an OTA/local update is to wipe the cache from recovery both before and after the update. So far, no issues to report. While I would probably benefit from doing the...

    OxygenOS 5.0.3

I was on 5.0.1. All OTA, except for the opgrade to 5.0.3 which I used the updater app to get and then installed it locally. My old Opera VPN was the instrument of choice to get the prior updates.

    OxygenOS 5.0.3

Yep. I finally gave up on using a VPN and used the Oxygen Updater app. Worked great! I wiped the system cache from recovery both before and after the update, just as a precaution. No issues. Face unlock works great! (I never could get Android trusted faces to work on my OP3).

Trying to sort that out now. I have to find another VPN to use since Opera died.

Google home devices in the home network

I’m currently looking at the Plume system, but the challenge in front of me is figuring out how to run an Ethernet cable between the first and second floor and keep it hidden for aesthetic purposes. Otherwise, I like what I read about Plume and how it works. That should easily solve my SSID issue.

So you can broadcast or play music on all at the same time? Keep in mind, I don’t even know what I want to do with them yet, but prefer full functionality until I know how all this works and how I’ll end up using them.

Google home devices in the home network

How does that solve the multiple SSID issue? With a router at one end of the house and an AP at the other end, that leaves the middle of the house fumbling between varying signal strengths of the radios from the router and AP. Same for the upstairs too. Using a single SSID has not worked...

Google home devices in the home network

Thanks for the replies. I have some more learnin' to do. Since I have the multiple SSID issue (am I alone in that regard?), I'm considering moving to a mesh network so I can have a single SSID throughout the house. Right now we have to manually choose which radio to connect to since our mobile...
