Having same issue on SGS3 jellybean. I only downloaded 1 song from Google play store and can't find it anywhere when I have it checked for offline use. I don't like the play music app. I use power amp. I have what a chafe. I have won't be buying from Google Music again until they fix this issue.

check your settings. i had a similar problem. make sure any "auto adjust" Brightness is disabled and Battery Savings (which i believe also has a "screen dimming" adjustment is off. I forget where everything is, but start w/ settings>Display and Battery.

The prime is hot piece. I'll take two but will settle for one.
