I think the latest log is supposed to fix carrier specific stuff and improve connectivity. You might want to try that.

Definitely not difficult at all, there is a hiccup or 2 regarding getting the device into the recovery option and making sure that adb sees your device. But if you run into those problems I'll happily tell you what I did for both issues.
