Same here. I didn't even check out what the P9 series has to offer, because I don't care. My P8P has been fantastic for a year and has had no issues.

I've never had overheating on my P8P but occasionally did on my P6P, but only when using it outside in the sun on very hot days, so not really a phone issue but just what would be expected in those conditions..

I haven't noticed any difference after the update on my P8P but couldn't change that setting if I wanted to since I'm on Verizon in the US. For some reason, years ago, they locked that setting out (or rather made it disappear) so we can't change it. I'd rather set it to 4G LTE and just leave it...

Same here, best phone for me so far as well. Absolutely love the FLAT screen and the macro camera. Those 2 features are what pushed me to get the P8P, replacing my P6P.

This is a test on my Gboard keyboard from my P8P. Seems to work fine for me after the update, FYI. It might be a specific set of circumstances for you causing the issue. FWIW, I'm on Verizon with an unlocked phone directly from Google back in October.

I haven't noticed it but I don't have any smart bulbs. I'm guessing it's the PWM from the LED light causing the issue. How does it look when the light is at maximum brightness? Does it change or get better or worse as you change the brightness of the bulb?
