Does the same thing happen with Google Music (or Spotify)? Why not use Android Auto to answer your call (it sounds like you're using your car's phone system to do so)?

Yes you can, no problem. I use it every day for just that purpose. I say things like, "play songs by moxy fruvous" or "play album bargainville".

I have Android N and I sometimes get that "what is your message" in AA.
