Coming from the Droid Turbo, the active display is the only thing I miss & am debating whether it's a deal breaker with the Pixel. The Pixel's ambient display does give me almost the same notification info as the Droid - If only we could get it to pulse intermittently after that initial few...

Strange... I would make sure the people with the Iphone are sending regular texts and not IMessages (your account wouldn't matter) by mistake.

Textra is supported - it has to activated in the settings menu --Works perfect for me (miss the stock messaging of the Razr M, the mini's messaging app is the worst, seems cold & sterile absolutely no color)

I'm kind of liking the brighter LCD screen of the Mini - I have the Moto & the wife has the Mini - When u compare them side by side, white print & backgrounds are much brighter more vivid, at least for my old eyes:) Black backgrounds on the Mini, though not as deep, are not too bad for a LCD.
