    Any one casting their screen?

Another system update arrived last week - still calls itself 5.1. The build is now LMY47D. Screen casting to my Chromecast now works a treat! Settings > Display > Cast Screen > select the device and away you go! Stan

    Android 5.1 OTA is here

Did you try a "red button reset"?

    Android 5.1 OTA is here

My z-ultra GPe had a notification waiting this morning that 5.1 was downloaded and ready to install. By the time I finished breakfast, all the apps were checked and Bob's your uncle!

Ok, I've been happily writing and reading to/from my 64gb external microsd for nearly two months with only the occasional hitch. Now, I've pinned down the cause of those few hitches and I'm in need of a new solution. The previous solution of formatting the 64gb microsd to fat32 works perfectly...

    Any one casting their screen?

With the 5.0 update there is a command in Settings, Settings>Display>Cast Screen This page at Google, https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/2865484?hl=en, suggests that on most Nexus devices this command looks for nearby Chromecast devices, but on our z-ultra GPe it looks for a Miracast...

    lollipop is here!

Success! Short version: the sd card must be formatted as fat32. My 64gb sd was formatted as exfat. That works fine under KitKat and lollipop continued to read and write to it within the limitations imposed by KitKat. I have many apps that used the SD for their own data within the narrow...

Not this sd, but I'll swap in another newly formatted sd later today. Can you confirm that the test procedure I described is exactly the same as you use. Even a minor variation might be the key to what I'm doing wrong.

OK, please help me figure out what I am doing wrong. I too am using the latest version of ES File Explorer, 3.2.3.1, from Google Play. I open ESFE. From the ESFE home window I select drive "emulated, 0", the internal storage (advertised as 16gb, in reality I get 11.79gb available). I...

What app are you using to move and create files on the external SD? And, please confirm that you are NOT rooted?

    lollipop is here!

That's almost exactly what I was looking for. But, I would really like to be able to reproduce the same result! I'm also using es file explorer, z-ultra GPe and 5.0 lollipop. But, when I attempt to create a new folder on the external sd I get the message, "Sorry, operation failed". Attempts to...

    lollipop is here!

OK, I heard the call a few hours ago and plunged right in with the OTA update. All very smooth including all installed apps. But, I'm still unable to create a new folder on my external SD with ESFileExplorer. I emailed the developer and they replied with a cryptic message to just follow the...

Very cool! Now, can you write to your external sd? If so, what's the procedure? Stan

Sony ZU GPe will not Turn Off!

I leave my phone turned on nearly 24/7, hooked up to a charger when I'm not out and about. But occasionally, when I know I'm going to be away from a charger for an extended period I want to turn the device off - completely off, not just let the screen sleep. No joy! I long-press the power...
