I have the same problem on the htc desire 526. This is a pretty big bug, phone is new out of the box, pretty big bug to get through those guys. Not gonna help them make a comeback.

This makes my power file/folder management routines a pain like the OP described. Let me know when the rest of you guys need a feature you rely on defended. Compromise... a setting that says 'I don't need to be protected from the apps I chose to install'? It can even be disabled by default...

Re: How to disable Google Now Great, I'll try this. Oh that is funny. On my moto g when you disable google search you get a dumb gray bar where the search bar used to be. Can't get rid of it. What a bummer for my background image. Guess they really want everyone to use google now. Well...

With the price and not any significant compromise, how does this phone not take over the market?

A few weeks ago, for kicks I put my nexus 4 and evo 4g lte on the shelf and started using my ancient Evo 3d again. To my surprise, I hardly notice I'm using an old phone. Everything runs pretty well, battery oddly seems longer on the 3d (extended 1900mah vs the N4 anyhow, maybe smaller screen...

I've got the 3d, evo 4g lte and the nexus 4.. as a light user, and with 'ting' making it easy to switch between phones, to my surprise I'm finding the old 3d to be fun to use again. I dont remember if there were some quirks about it that I'll rediscover, but at the moment, yea, this phone still...

I'm looking forward to portable qi-based battery packs. Would be cool if I could have one in my pocket, and have the nexus 4 charge when it's in my pocket as well. don't care how thick it is, lots of space in a winter jacket pocket or would be great on an airplane not messing with cables..

Just another anecdote, 8 hour 20 min hike in airplane mode with google my tracks plotting my course, and about 10 minutes on photospheres took 40% of the battery. Pleasantly surprised, thought it would've been a much heavier draw on the battery with the gps usage.

I have been trying to activate the cracked back feature, but after quite a few drops, the back is still intact, perhaps an OTA will fix this.

great! mine worked. thanks for the tips. hardest part was figuring out how to order the micro sim by itself, kept getting to that page to pick a regular plan. i was able to use the real imei rather than all 9s. now just need to find a replacement to carrier call/text services, maybe take a look...
