"I've ordered my HTC One (M8)!" (Order & Shipping Discussion)

Re: The "I've ordered my HTC One M8" thread! (Order & Shipping Discussion) Have NOT ordered mine yet (can't until after we complete our no-wifi vacation on 4/19, because I'm on VZW unlimited), but noticed Verizon Online (only--not available in stores) is offering a buy one, get one free deal...

Ringtone Makers Can't Read Music Files

I'm trying to create custom ringtones from the music files on my Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.4.2 (CM 11 build date 09-Jan-2014). Most, if not all, of my music is in M4A format, so I made sure the ringtone makers I've tried support that format. The apps play the music files just fine, but...

    Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 root help

Bingo! Going straight to Recovery after flashing CWM was the secret. Dunno why I didn't do that before, but I'm now running CM9. (It was the only one I had on the phone, and I didn't want to screw around with trying to find something else!) BTW, I couldn't find AOKP at goo.im, but I think I...

    Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 root help

**sigh** Okay . . . have flashed CWM Recovery, both regular and Touch (Touch is awesome, btw), and SuperUser 4.0.4. Several times. :p Problem is, as soon as I try to reboot into recovery, I get the dead Android with the red triangle. I thought SU404 was supposed to fix that, by overwriting the...

    Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 root help

Yup yup . . . just rooted via Superboot; going to flash CM9. Have CM7 on my Nook Color, so I'm comfortable with it. Any other suggestions for ROMs to check out? And I can do that completely from CW Rom Manager, right?

    Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 root help

Finally home and FINALLY getting around to fixing this. Turns out you had an extra 'recovery' in the fastboot command line; once I got rid of that, voila! So now I'm well on the way to getting CM9 installed. :) Thanks again for the help?couldn't have done it without you!

    Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 root help

Okay . . . as I showed above, that's not quite the filename I have, but I assume I use the filename I downloaded? (And I can go be sure I get the actual CW Touch img, too.)

    Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 root help

*sigh* Not working. The download is an image, so I made a zip of it as well. Used the following command, and one without .zip: /Users/sbhall52/GNexRoot/fastboot boot recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.2-toro.img.zip For both, I got this: cannot load 'recovery' I think I'm going to have...

    Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 root help

Okay . . . phone is in Fastboot (bootloader) mode, lock state = unlocked (according to the phone). However, I can't find JUST Clockwordmod Recovery (zip file) to put in the same directory on my Mac as Fastboot is, to run the recovery. (Also, I'm away from home, so stuck with my Macbook Air...

    Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 root help

Doh . . . I meant, I was unlocked under 4.0.2, not rooted. So yes, familiar with FastBoot. (And no, I can't reboot into recovery from FastBoot?I see the "LOCK STATE?UNLOCKED" notice, but it pretty much acts as though it's locked.) I'll try your suggestions?thanks a ton! :)

    Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4 root help

I was rooted on my Verizon GNex under 4.0.2. Got the OTA update to 4.0.4, but apparently have lost root (naturally :p). When I go into FastBoot mode, it displays "LOCK STATE – UNLOCKED," but won't read the phone when I connect via USB to my Mac. I have downloaded the latest su.zip, but I can't...
