I think I found an answer. We might try an app lock app and see if that works.

My dad has a GS3 for work and they use the default email client for exchange email. The problem comes from the wizards of smart in IT. They decided that every ones phone needs to be lock at all times just in case you might leave it somewhere and horrors of horrors they might get into...

If you're having alot of issues, I'd do a factory reset and see if a clean install helps.

I don't think that's what I'm looking for. The screen brightness is fine, I'd like the backlight on the buttons to come on sooner. There's times when the light sensor thinks it's light enough to see the buttons, and it's not. Thanks for the reply though.....
