Same with T-Mobile here in the US. I suspect the phone is actually turning off the mobile modem, since you already have a WiFi connection to the internet, and the modem uses battery power.

It certainly depends upon where you live. My wife has an Siii Mini, which being international does not have AWS or LTE. She gets good speeds on 1900 HSPA. I think TMO will be rolling out more and more 1900 HSPA and LTE this year, so it might work out for those without the TMO AWS.

It is a matter of his opinion. I can see why he choose the way he did, although I don't agree with some of his judgements. However, I'm staying with my One rather than going for the S4 a week later. I just like the way HTC builds their phones.

Re: Order directly from HTC? Dev edition and unlocked version DELAYED Rooting and changing roms violates the warranty on all devices. The dev is meant for people developing new programs, not roms.

I know on the TMO bands, 3G talking and internet is not possible. I think this would include text, but definitely internet browsing while talking is out. That is one of the advantages of 4G.
