    Tablet confusion

For me, it came down to one of the Samsung eights or the LG. I just liked the LG better for the interface. I have an iPhone but have never been interested in an iPad. I like the customization of android for tablets. If I used a tablet for work I might feel different but I find android a lot more...

G Pad 8.3: Is the brightness that much of an issue?

I keep mine at forty or fifty percent for most of my use. Less when reading at night. Don't have much occasion too use it outdoors so I can't say about that. Posted via Android Central App

    Damn you Apple!

I have had my g pad for about a month now. I am still loving it. Played around with a couple of custom roms but went back to stock with apex launcher. Apex is smooth as butter but I still get almost everything that comes stock...which I love. I use the LG a lot more than I did my seven inch...

G pad battery life not great.

I just spent one solid hour of my normal use on the g pad....using about a dozen different apps - news, weather, a lot of sports, email, some web with a couple of short 2 minute video interviews. Screen brightness at my normal 45%...Mine dropped 14% of its charge (from 79 to 65). That would...

    Damn you Apple!

I am coming from a seven inch tablet and the 8.3 is a lot easier on my eyes. Of course I am also coming from a first gen kindle fire so the resolution of the LG is much better too. It might not be as noticeable going from a Nexus to an eight plus inch tablet unless you got to a ten or so inch...

G pad battery life not great.

Do you have a lot of apps installed? I charge mine overnight and unplug it in the morning. Twelve hours later when I get home from work it has only lost two or three percent. I don't turn off or anything. Just in its normal sleep mode. I have about one fifty to two hundred apps installed but I...

    Damn you Apple!

My tablet is purely for entertainment and fun. I like to be able to customize it and add widgets and wallpapers or a new launcher or even root and rom it. Android fits that. My phone just needs to work. It can be boring and utilitarian as long as it is rock solid and completely useful and...

    Damn you Apple!

I would not have paid 350 for the g Pad just as I would not pay $400 for a mini. But, at around 275 vs the current competition, the price for the g Pad is just about right. 400 is way too much for a mini compared to the competition (Air and Android)

Is the IR Blaster any good?

Right now, it will do tv's and some cable boxes. No stereo or bluray or anything else. It has promise but not real useful to me at this time. As said above, I have had no luck getting other IR apps to work on it. The proprietary part now explains that. The Qremote app is actually really good but...

    what to Choose?

I made the same choice in the non-GPE version. I thought some of the LG things looked useful and figured if I didn't like them or LG never upgrades the device, I will end up with CM on it anyway.

    Damn you Apple!

I am just the opposite. I will probably never buy anything but an iPhone for my phone but, for tablets, I want Android and have no interest in the iPads. Just bought a g pad today and it should arrive by Christmas. Currently use a Kindle Fire 1 with CM11.

How many are stock and aren't planning to root?

Stock. I actually like the interface a lot and have no desire to change it. I used to be all into tweaking computers and doing this and that just to do it but that was a long time ago. As I have gotten old and cranky, I just want stuff simple and to have it work without a lot of hassle. ;) I...
