64-bit Snapdragon 810 chips are coming out next year, so you'll be seeing most phones and tablets have that. We should see much more attention pointed toward 64-bit devices next year.

Didn't get the OTA, but I read a post that instructed how to force it so I went on did it. It requires you factory reset afterwards, but it's recommended when a major update comes out anyways.

Chill out Aredubu, it's not like Samsung tablets are getting it any sooner, in fact it's quite the contrary, I doubt if your TAB S is gonna see it this year. LTE tablets seem to be having trouble, even the Nexus 7 LTE versions are only getting it this December.

Wow that sounds annoying, but hasn't it always been like that? I mean the LTE Nexus 7's haven't received it either despite there being unlocked versions over the world, the update is not available because some US carrier, so pretty much all of the world has to take this ****.

Hmmm... well I just can't recomend you to go with a shield tablet. The screen is just average, but the specs and gaming capabilities more than make up for it, since you're getting it for a much different purpose I really think you should go with something else. Have you thought of Apple? iPad...

Got an unlocked Nexus 5 but no update yet, been pressing the check now button every morning since last Thursday.

Nexus 9 is much better in color reproduction compared to Shield. I suggest you look at the Nexus 7 2013, the screen is much better than both N9's and Shield Tablet's. You can probably find a new one very cheaply these days.
