I have an S3 with the most recent update (4.1.2), but I don't see a Multi Window option anywhere. It's not in the display settings menu and it also can't be found in main pulldown menu. My phone is also experiencing severe sluggishness and I wanted to disable the option like others apparently...

I have this same frustrating issue, and yes it occurred immediately after the 4.1.1 update on 1/3/13

I am having the same issue. This occurred when my phone automatically updated to 4.1.1 on January 3rd of this year. Before that, I had no trouble and the setting worked fine. Now, I can't get my phone to ONLY vibrate. It either vibrates AND makes a sound, or does nothing. No vibrate only...
