Yep. Long press on virtual home button takes you straight in to the Google Assistant. Or a swipe left takes you to the Google Now style cards, and you can get to the assistant from there. As part of the setup process you can also set it up to recognise your voice even when the phone is locked.

Just looked at some of my pictures with red in, and its definitely red. If wide angle camera shows red, but normal camera shows orange, i'd say you may have a defective camera unit. Orange is actually red with some green in in light terms. Does white show slightly greenish on the camera too...
