Issue has resolved itself, somehow, after another restart. Not sure why this happened, but all back to normal without changing anything. No Laura Knotek, I am using the tablet as standard, no customisation at all.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that didn't work, so I have reverted Google Photos back to factory version 1.0.2 and now it shows the thumbnails fine. At least I can use the tablet again until Google fixes their update. Posted via the Android Central App

My Nexus 7 2013 32 GB LTE just received the Android v5.0.2 OTA update notification, but I haven't had chance to install it yet. Very surprised to see it arrive so quickly here in the UK, over the EE network.
