Battery life since update (January Security Patch)

Ditto. Wiped cache. Removed Facebook app all together. Battery life has gone downhill in a big way since the security patch. Very disappointing. I only had this phone for a couple of weeks before the patch and was completely amazed at how good the battery life was compared to every other phone...

Battery life since update (January Security Patch)

Re: Battery life since update yesterday I uninstalled FB all together. Can't say that I have noticed a significant improvement today. I think the update that Google pushed out has had a negative impact on battery performance.

Battery life since update (January Security Patch)

I have had my 6P for about 2 weeks. Battery life has been amazing. Yesterday there was a system update. Something about security. I'm on 6.0.1. The update took about 30 mins to complete. When it started my battery was well over 90%. When it was finished, it was down to 62%. I didn't...

What's that sensor on the back for?

I have a few cases for my Z1 already. The latest addition to the collection is one that I picked up in the Sony Store. It does not have a cutout that all the others have for what must be some kind of sensor behind the glass on the back of the phone to the right of the camera lens. Does anyone...

Sony Xperia Z1 - Anyone else notice that Netflix doesn't work with xreality turned off?

I find that when xreality is turned on, video is way, way, oversharpened, giving things that should have soft curves, jagged edges. However, when xreality is disabled via the display settings, Netflix seems to stop working. Has anyone else noticed this?

One little thing I miss about the GS4...

Tried Aquamail. It doesn't do Exchange Activesync (Office365). I'm using Maildroid now which seems to do it all. The paid version is pretty steep at $20 but if it does what I need I guess it's worth the dough. So far I am not getting any notifications with Maildroid though. Posted via...

One little thing I miss about the GS4...

I gave up on BlackBerry a few weeks ago and spent the first 2 weeks of my Android life with a Samsung GS4. I was really just waiting for the arrival of the Z1 and so as soon as it arrived, the GS4 went back and I am now carrying this beauty of a phone. Wow! This really is an awesome phone...

    Time/date stamp app?

Having just switch from BlackBerry, one of the things I am missing is text shortcuts. With BlackBerry there were several pre-programmed phrases that could be entered by typing a couple of letters. For example "ld" would enter the date in the specified long date format. The user could add to...

New to Android : email app recommendations?

I just packed it in with BlackBerry after 7 years and picked up an S4. The learning curve is certainly steep but I am optimistic and so far hanging in there. I like that everything is so customizable so any hurdle seems to be easily overcome with a readily available app or fix. I have been...
