Short battery life, all of a sudden

That is called short battery life. It occurs on the Inspire. Nothing is wrong.

    Battery Drain Question

Either: 1. The OP is lying 2. The OP really doesn't turn off the radios like he says he does. 3. He has brightness at 100 and no screen timeout 4. Malicious app.

    shattered screen

How did it shatter? It has Gorilla Glass, which is lamented. It would crack, but not actually shatter. Could be a defect.

How do you use Google Voice?

Almost nothing. I have 200 MB a month, and GV so far has used about 2 MB on mobile data and 8.4 MB on wifi. That is with about 200-400 texts sent and received.

    Encrypted SMS apps - Recommendations?

None! SMS and regular cell phone transmissions are not encrypted, nor will any app do that. You would need to buy a military grade phone to do that. Sure, you can password protect your SMS, but not encrypt it. That would also go against FCC rules.

    Pocket Problem

Well there are two types of touchscreen phones. Most smartphones use capacitive, which require a warm object like a finger to touch it. On the Inspire, the proximity sensor tries to fix this by not activating the screen until there is nothing around the phone, ie out of your pocket.

    GPS after Gingerbread

I tried it today in my car. I found that it only locked on to the cell towers unless my phone was on the dashboard with no metal in its way. They really mean it when HTC says you need a clear view of the sky for the GPS to work.

    GPS after Gingerbread

Are you sure? It says that the lower the filter, the less stable the connection.

    GPS after Gingerbread

Downloaded GPS Status. When I go to work, I will see how it helped. I set filtering to LOW.

    GPS after Gingerbread

Sure, but you still need the data to download the map. So, if there is no map loading, then there is the problem. Otherwise, it could be that the GPS is just timing out or that it is polarized to a certain direction. Trying pointing it in another direction maybe?

Cell Towers down but still communicate? Emergency Application

Nice idea, but currently there is no hardware for cellphones to communicate directly with one another other than bluetooth. Wifi would not work, as a phone cannot send wifi outward, only accept wifi from a source. Of course you are thinking: "My phone has a Wifi hotspot!" Well, that requires a...
