I would say that your biggest drain when you were asleep was your phone's data radio looking for a strong 3g data signal/antenna .. If you have a good WiFi signal, I would try turning off your data one night, while leaving the WiFi radio on.. You have the choice of turning WiFi radio on or off...

The only time my Note 4 got hot while charging was when I had the "Fast Charging" box checked, but I wasn't using the charger that came with the phone. I unplugged the charger, unchecked the box, plugged charger back in, and the phone started cooling down. I hope your issues are resolved by now...

Another thing to look at is whether you have a GSM phone that's trying to work on an LTE or CDMA network, or vice versa... That definitely won't work. Gary Posted via Android Central App

I would start by replacing the SIM Card with one from the carrier you have now chosen. I did the very same thing with my GNEX. My carrier is Verizon, and they provided and installed the SIM Card for free, and made sure all of my settings were correct. Good luck! and please, let us know if you...
