Lack of removable storage is a downer for me, but I still love my One X.

I noticed the same thing and it annoys me too. I haven't found a way to remove the verbage. I've been searching since my upgrade to Gingerbread.

If it's not in the list, I would guess they disassociated it or reset it already. Maybe your carrier can help locate it? They should be able to see all ESNs and what towers they're on, but I don't know how far they'll go to help you.

My guess is that there's a process or two running in the background that is slowing the response. If you do a reset does it still behave that way? (This will remove all your apps and data so backup first!) Do you have a lot of apps installed?

I would think you could connect USB to a computer and then use undelete software to recover them, but I've never tried it myself. The file system is different so those tools may not be able to do it. You could try something mentioned in this article: How to Recover Deleted Files with Free...
