Thank you so much! That seems to have done the trick. It reset all of his home screen, but the badges are all working properly. Thank you again!

Thank you for your help and your patience. He reset to default, and restarted the phone. App badges still showing on the recently used apps page, but not on home...so confusing! But they'll show on Facebook and messenger just not all of the apps. Maybe just one of those weird things.

One UI is his default.

Oh, so he is not using the right launcher? I don't know much about this myself and he definitely doesn't. Which is the launcher then? Is that Android Auto?

The A21 doesn't even have that option - when I move app storage to my SD card, it frees up a LOT of space. But the A21 doesn't have that option at all. It's all internal.

That's what I meant I guess - change the data storage to the SD card. Sorry about that. I wasn't aware there was a difference.

That's weird...I have a Samsung Galaxy S10+ that I got earlier this year and it is up to date and it still has the option to move some apps to the SD card. Did Samsung quietly do away with it on the 2020 phone models or what?
