Thanks. That's what I expected. If there was a second power source, maybe it could work. I haven't bought a backup drive, and will continue to just be careful. I'm don't shoot pro, but it would still be irritating to lose pics.

Thanks. I should have specified that the intent was to travel without a computer. It is true that if I have a friend's computer available, I can do the transfer either directly through the computer of using the computer as temporary storage. Swapping micro cards might work, but wouldn't...

I had the same problem - Volume Locker was the solution. You can change the volume using the rocker but it will reset to what you set up in Volume Locker after 20 seconds or so.
