Doesn't get much easier than this:

Also, try You Tube. There are videos you can follow... Pretty much like watching someone do it for you :-)
Good luck!

Weird. Are you using the stock messaging app, or a different one? I would recommend perhaps trying go sms or handscent. Maybe that will help? Good luck.

Before flashing to an AOSP ROM, make sure you have a gps lock first (have maps open) before booting into recovery. That seems to do the trick for me.

Not sure off hand, but I'd recommend using Google Voice for voicemail instead . Much better than Verizon's service in my opinion.
Sorry for not answering your question lol.

Sounds like you have it fixed but I had a similar issue once where I couldn't get past the white HTC screen. Someone recommended using an older version of clockwork recovery (all the way at the bottom in ROM Manager). That worked like a charm.

I'm a big fan of the Th3ory ROMs over on XDA. Like butter :-)

Agreed, you don't NEED to flash a custom ROM, but I'd strongly recommend it. What the Devs are able to do with these phones is crazy cool. Might as well take full advantage of your rooted phone! ;-)
