Been looking at the Nexus 7 after throwing away my cheap chinese tablet. Would love to have for some more NFC fun.

I had that problem and I know some people did a factory reset until it started working but I switched to thumb keyboard and noticed the long press would work on that keyboard and I made it go caps lock and then switched to the stock keyboard and it started working again. I hope it works for you.
