I'm kind of having the same problem but my screen will I guess glitch or flicker on and then go black. I have a galaxy s5. I've been having to pop the battery out and put it back in over and over until I could get the screen to pull up.

I can physically tell that my galaxy is on because notification light is flickering. But the screen does this weird cut out thing after it lays dorment for a while and I have to pop the battery in and out until I can get the display to pull up and I'm able to unlock my phone.
