It's inconsistent for me- slow more often than not.

I've found it to be well above average. Of course there's no screen protection, but I drop my phone a lot on all kinds of surfaces with damage neither to the phone nor the case.

I get notifications in the notification bar, pull down, lock screen and all show the messages app icon. It also usually shows a preview of the message on the main messages screen when viewing all messages but then the individual SMS disappears upon opening the message. This is only happening...

The default message app is definitely set to Messages.

Update: Settings we're triple checked and all is set appropriately. It also happens when not connected to wifi. I have att. Should I try calling them?

I use the Tech21 Evo Check. I've been using Tech 21 cases for the past year or two and have been very happy with them. Good balance of protection and little bulk. I'm also fond of their aesthetics.

Settings>quick settings>lock screen and security>secure lock settings>secured lock time>(select the amount of time you'do like the phone to wait until it requires a fingerprint to unlock)
