SIM-Unlocked Moto X won't update from Jelly Bean

Worth mentioning (?) is that this phone is being used on the Straight Talk BYOP plan. I'm using the ATT compatible SIM from their starter pack.

SIM-Unlocked Moto X won't update from Jelly Bean

This is one of the first things I tried, and also does not work. The Device Manager simply says that there are no updates. Thanks though.

SIM-Unlocked Moto X won't update from Jelly Bean

I went today. They only have tools to support Samsung, because, well....that's self-explanatory.

SIM-Unlocked Moto X won't update from Jelly Bean

That would mean that everyone using an unlocked phone on a pre-pay plan would not receive Android OS updates, which we know is untrue. This is very confusing.

SIM-Unlocked Moto X won't update from Jelly Bean

As the title says, I bought a new and SIM-Unlocked Moto X from a vendor (phone was originally a Sprint device), and when I try to update the software to presumably KitKat, they phone says I'm "Up-To-Date". The phone's settings show that I'm still on 4.2.2, and even the Motorola Device Manager on...

Should a refurbished phone come rooted?

Thanks. Now, here comes the question you knew was coming.... What would you do? The seller will take it back, but that leaves me phone-less again for a bit. I was considering a Nexus 4 or this, and chose this because it has LTE. Anyways....

Should a refurbished phone come rooted?

Nefarious intentions is exactly my concern. I also find it unlikely, but am thinking of key-loggers and the likes, monitoring my actions. Would using the SuperSU "Unroot" option alleviate this? Not really sure where to go from here. Again, I'm not totally root averse, as I wouldn't mind...

Should a refurbished phone come rooted?

I forgot to add that I confirmed root access with Root Validator App. Also, I don't have developer tools on my computer I was under the impression that a phone returned to the ATT store within 14 days could be considered a refurb, and following a physical inspection a Factory Reset, can be...

Should a refurbished phone come rooted?

Well, here's my first post. I recently bought an HTC First (dubbed the Facebook phone) because I got a great deal on it (refurbished "Like New" by ATT) and it runs stock Android beneath the Facebook skin. Anyhow, I was poking around in the App Drawer and saw that SuperSU was installed. Now...
