OK thanks folks. I think I've sussed out how to use Smart Switch on the PC to backup my phone. Will be back if I have more problems!

Thing is, when I open Kies 3 on my PC and then connect the S5 I get a message telling me to use Smart Switch instead, and that it is more convenient and faster. Whatever I do next it then refuses to detect the S5. Is there no way to make Kies 3 work with the S5?
