It's definitely legit, as all of Verizon's Twitter accounts have confirmed 12/15. Besides all of those email 'sign-ups' are just excuses for you to give them your email address, so they can send you ads.
Probability of the Galaxy Nexus's release:
70% - Best Case: Dec 15
25% - Medium Case: Dec 16-25
4% - Worst Case: Dec 26-Q1 2012
1% - Worstest Case: Verizon completely backs out, phone is never sold.
Verizon didn't delay this phone just to watch nerds get pissed. They delayed it for a reason, and I'd much rather have a nice phone later than have a lemon.
My local Verzion Store (which has/had no stock and has refused to tell me any previous dates) called me and told me the 15th was the launch date :D
(In VA btw)
I'm pretty sure it has to do with stock. I have called most VZW O&O's within 20 miles of my house, and only one has received a shipment.
I don't think Wallet is a problem because the AT&T and T-Mobile Nexus S don't have it, and you don't see Google whining about it.
They better hurry up...
The most sense this makes to me is that VZW O&O stores will release on Tuesday the 13th, (a rumored date) and then third party retailers get it a day later, on the 14th.
No, these are bad, even by BB standards. These people will put you on hold for 30+ minutes even when the store is dead. I tried to by a sound bar for my TV, and the person I was talking to had no idea what a sound bar even was.
Hmmm, my friend's Thunderbolt's 4G just went out, in a spot where it has worked since he got it. He hasn't been able to get it back on. I've also heard other talk of a nationwide 4G outage. Maybe this has something to do with this supposed delay?
