    Is it a keeper?

Oh, another bit. I went from an unlocked Note 8 to an unlocked Note 10+. I have had AT&T service since before they were AT&T. The "activation" process went like this: 1. Remove SIM card from Note 8. 2. Insert SIM card into Note 10+. 3. Reboot Note 10+. 4. Done. Seriously, that's all...

    Is it a keeper?

I had the original Note and several others, now coming from the Note 8. Yes, get rid of as much bezel as possible, thank you very much. I have had the S-View flip cover case ever since they became available, and just won't have anything else. So, that's always part of my "feel" of the phone...

Pie: Notifications don't use sounds in the Notifications folder.

Yep, I've had about 30 MP3 files in such a folder -- I believe the folder was there by default when I started the phone for the first time. But when I go into the notifications sounds settings, they don't show up at all. To be specific, I am looking in this folder: Settings / Sounds and...

Pie: Notifications don't use sounds in the Notifications folder.

Folks, Heck, maybe this goes way back, but it seems that Pie reset my notification sound. So, going in there, I just see the default junk -- Beatbox, Beep Once, Buzz, Charming Bell, etc. I go look in the Notifications folder, and there are all of the sounds that I have saved in there -- none...

Got any examples of the difference?

New articles by TheVerge on the Bixby disaster

Whoever wrote that "The Verge" article obviously doesn't know much about cameras and sensors. Yes, it's true that the wide-angle camera has a slightly larger sensor than the zoom-lens camera, but the difference in size is essentially negligible. If you want to talk about image quality, run...

    Bixby?

My state will start enforcing a very strict "don't touch your phone when you drive" law -- you can't even touch the thing while you're sitting at a red light. The main thing I want to do is "Launch Shazam" when I hear a song on my XM Radio, and Shazam is set up to start listening when I open...

Note 8 screen much warmer than S8+

Blue is cool. Red is warm. If the display is reddish, turn down the red, and turn up the blue. Green is just more to your taste. I also found the Note 8 color to be substantially warmer than my S8+ screen, so I definitely adjusted it to a more bluish color.

    Picked it up!

As far as purchasing goes, I bought my AT&T S8+ at Best Buy and just signed up for the usual AT&T payment plan. Obviously, I'm not very far along on that, so I just bought an unlocked Note 8, and swapped my SIM card over to it. Perhaps not the cheapest way to go, but I always keep my old...

How does everyone like their Note?

I had the first Note, and then a number of different Samsung phones, until the S8+, and now the Note 8. In the meantime, I have tried a few alternatives, and I didn't like ANY of them. AT ALL. Here's what I prefer about Samsung, the most: 1. Wireless charging. I won't have a phone without...

    Unlocked N8 w/AT&T - no Visual Voicemail - help!

On my unlocked Note 8, there is an icon where the tutorial above shows a voicemail app icon, but it looks more like a "message" icon, and I can tap it constantly for the next several thousand years, but it won't launch or do anything whatsoever. When I installed the APK file as mentioned above...

Unlocked Note 8 or AT&T carrier one from AT&T?

In a different thread, someone helped me by pointing to an apk file with which I installed the visual voicemail app. Works fine, and I'm good to go. I'm still not sure whether I should bother with "activating" the phone with AT&T....

    Unlocked N8 w/AT&T - no Visual Voicemail - help!

Thanks for the help! I just went up and grabbed it -- works just fine. I'm not sure I could live without visual voicemail!

Unlocked Note 8 or AT&T carrier one from AT&T?

Hmmm, quick reply to my reply above. OK, so I just plugged my SIM card from my S8+ into my Note 8 -- do I need to "activate" the thing with AT&T, and might that be what I need to do in order to get the visual voicemail app to install? I never thought about that....

Unlocked Note 8 or AT&T carrier one from AT&T?

Yes, Visual Voicemail is the killer app that you just don't get. I've tried installing it on my phone, but it either won't work (won't even start downloading), or it says the phone isn't compatible with it. Not good.
