Make sure you don't have duplicate folder names between the SD card and the phone. I think there is a database building issue where it only looks at the filler name and not the full path. This also explains why removing the sd, or formatting the card works sometimes Example: Rename "downloads"...

Just rename it with the extension you want. Depending on what adb does you may or may not be able to open/view it.

Only chance now is to submerge it for a little while in *distilled* water. Then repeat the rice or silicate packet process. It's not the water that kills things... It's the contaminates causing short circuits. It's your only chance. I don't think it'll work but what do you have to lose

And no fancy tasker profile (or similar) to "do xyz when charging"? I'd go back to the store and be ready to leave it for an hour

Do you also have bad battery life? When I had the bad battery life media issue it took forever to charge

Maybe a specific app. Have you installed anything recently? Are you sure it's not the more common media scan running amok too

I have a video downloader that does this. Then I froze it ;) when I want y to use it, it does take a few steps but much better than push notification ads.

I leave Wi-Fi and data on all the time but don't connect to open networks. The connection optimizer was doing weird things on me so I disable it. I tried using the home button multi task method but like being able to swipe up and have my recent and running apps all there. Preference for sure!

You can customize the gmd for whatever you want to be in the panels. It's the closest thing I've seen for a nicer multi taking experience. I configured it so when I swipe up, it brings up a recent/running apps board. The Wi-Fi is probably the connection optimizer: settings, wireless, more...
